Conservative Connections is an innovative firm that does things differently. We offer a top- to- bottom approach to running races. We are able to provide effective and efficient services from local city races, up to the large structure needed for a statewide race.

Our Team
Conrad Pogorzelski III, Founder

His first job in politics was knocking on doors for his Congressman where he learned how to talk to voters, and the importance of grass roots.
Conrad attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he graduated with honors, earning a Bachelors of Science in Economics, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. During his studies he wrote two thesis’, the first on Free Trade, and the second on Redistricting and Gerrymandering.
While attending the university, he was involved in Model United Nations, serving as a delegate on the globally renowned team where he was able to put his political skills to good use, attending conferences as a delegate and competing against other top universities.
At UNCC, Conrad served first as the secretary for College Republicans, and then as the Chairman during the 2016 election cycle. As Chairman, he worked with county parties, and campaigns from the local level, up to the presidential campaign.
After his experience in college, Conrad went on to work with campaigns at the local, state, and federal level. Conrad founded Conservative Connections to use his experience and passion to get Republicans elected.
In 2019 he began working with future Lieutenant Governor, Mark Robinson, orchestrating both his primary and general election wins. Robinson achieved victory in the 9 way primary without a run- off. His opponents included a current state senator, the statewide elected Superintendent of Pubic Education, a former congresswoman, and a former state house member. On election night Robinson stood atop of the pack at 33%, trouncing everyone. The 2nd place finisher, a state senator who spent $500,000 of his own money managed a meager 14%.
In the general election, Robinson was again outspent when Bloomberg poured in over $8M into the race. However, with a clear plan and message, the campaign again succeeded, making history.
On January 4th, 2021 Mark Robinson was sworn in as the first black Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina. Conrad joined him as his Chief of Staff, the youngest in state history.
After serving a year as the Chief of Staff, Conrad is now back full time with his consulting firm, Conservative Connections.
Conrad has appeared in a variety of local, national, and international publications including the Charlotte Observer, the News and Observer, Politifact, the Singapore Times, NPR, The Gaston Gazette, The Richmond Journal, and the BBC.
John Wesley Waugh, Digital Director
John Wesley is a lifelong North Carolinian, and has grown up in Statesville.
He has worked on congressional, municipal, and statewide races. He has worked as a field representative and digital communications.
John Wesley graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications, and doubled-minor in American Studies and Political Science.
John Wesley is a former College Republicans Chairman and also served on the university’s 49er Democracy Committee that worked very closely with the Host Committee for the 2020 Republican National Committee.
During his time at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Waugh also served as an Upperclassman At-Large Senator for the Student Government Association.
Waugh has been interviewed and appeared in local, national and international news outlets such as The Charlotte Observer, Spectrum News, New York Times, NPR, and Maclean’s Canadian News Magazine.
